What you will be doing:
- Ensure the daily smooth running of the banquet floor with regards to directing Supervisors, servers, bartenders, porters
- Oversees and participates in department schedules and budgeted guidelines for : Supervisors, servers, bartenders, porters
- Attends or sends a designate to all pertinent meetings which require the presence of a Banquets representative such as:
- Executes Proper Function Management of VIP Functions and Floor Coverage as needed:
- Checks room set-ups for correctness against BEO
- Plans and co-ordinates event details with kitchen, stewarding and catering
- Implements service sheet and conducts pre-function briefings and relates all pertinent information with staff
- Co-ordinates any changes with kitchen and stewarding and communicates guest satisfaction and concerns that may arise with any related problems
- Handles guest complaints and assists in resolution
- Communicates with catering and all other departments as needed on the outcome, challenges and successes of all functions
- Coaching and counseling of supervisors and employees
- Co-chairs communication meetings promoting
- Ensure that all financial reporting is maintained and accurate inclusive of:
- - ensuring accuracy of payroll
- - ensuring that billing of convention items
- - reviewing financial reports to ensure accuracy
- Constructive approach to achieving department goals with regards to:
- Guest Service Index
- Employee Engagement Survey
- Conducts frequent inspections of Banquet facilities and equipment by ensuring inventory of equipment meets standards and reporting and following up any deficiencies to maintenance
- Oversees entire department in Banquet Manager’s absence
- Complete all other duties as assigned by the Banquet Manager
Your experience and skills include:
- Previous Food and Beverage or Restaurant leadership experience required
- Leading and developing staff
- Previous point of sale system experience required
- Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required
- University/College degree in a related discipline preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Highly responsible & reliable
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
