Currently the security industry is the largest growing industry in North america with private security officers outnumbering public police officers nearly 3 to 1. However there tend to be few prospects for security due to it being a almost "invisible" industry. There are many jobs that tend to pay little with inexperienced or poorly trained officers taking these jobs with no regulatory enforcement that cause the public to have a negative image. However in the near future with mandatory training the industry may grow and offer more prospects that can become competitive.
